Oct 11th, 2008: Sibis Big Band featuring Jonathan Kreisberg plays in DIG Festival at Korjaamo on Monday 21st at 7pm. Come to listen to the one of the coolest guitarist from New York! Interesting program with some of Kreisberg´s own compositions together with a few jazzstandards.

7th July, 2008: On this weeks Sunday, 13th of July, Joonas will perform both as a solopianist and with his trio featuring Mikko Pettinen in LinnaJazz Festival in Hämeenlinna. The solo concert starts at 1pm at the home of Jean Sibelius. Joonas will play his latest compositions and some great jazzstandards. Later in the evening Joonas Haavisto Trio feat. Mikko Pettinen plays at the Casino. Come to listen to the new fresh music of Joonas Haavisto!

29th June, 2008: In Imatra Big Band Festival 2008 Joonas participated for the Finnish Big Band Competition with Sibis Big Band, which took the 1st price in the contest! They performed on Monday in a day concert on the jazzstreet and on Wednesday evening in the main stage.

29th May, 2008: Joonas Haavisto was awarded by Erik Lindström scholarship 2008. This scholarship has been intended to a young talented Finnish jazzmusician for studying abroad. Joonas has already started planning his trip to New York City and the United States.

14th Apr, 2008: Joonas Haavisto Trio performs with the Chamber Orchestra of Lapland at the church of Rovaniemi on this weeks Thursday 17th of April! Come to listen to beautiful sounds of some of the finest Finnish composers such as Kirmo Lintinen, Mikko Hassinen and Sonny Heinilä and feel the spirit of Northern Finland!!!

11th Apr, 2008: We had a really great tour with a new Octopus trio from 28th Mar till 7th Apr. Thanks for all the people who came to listen to our gigs!!! More coming in the next fall. . .

26th Jan, 2008: Happy New Year 2008!! This year starts with a very unique concert at SibaFest, Concert Hall of Sibelius-Academy, 2nd of February. The festival will conclude with the concert From Ostrobothnia to Eternity with the Sibis Big Band with strings presenting Timo Alakotila's Folk Moods West. 30th Nov, 2007: Joonas Haavisto performs with Jerry Bergonzi at the Arabia Hall in the Pop&Jazz Concervatory, Helsinki at 7 pm. Check out this unique concert sponsored by Selmer and Soitin Laine!

26th May, 2007: Quartet Apilas won the 1st price in Young Nordic Jazz Comets Competition and will represent Finland in the final contest in Åland in September.

7th May, 2007: Joonas Haavisto Trio performs with Ostrobothnian Chamber Orchestra on May 16th!
